Vägg utag switch
Then of course we need to connect the two switches together, using a cable going from port 49 on the first switch to port 49 on the second switch the gig ports.
What is the translation of "vägg" in English?
I would just like to add these simple rules: Switch to switch links are typically tagged, with the links members of all vlans that will cross the link. Switch to device links are typically untagged, with the switch ports PVID set to the desired vlan. There is an exception to the rule when a phone is connected between the switch and the computer.
Essentially, I have the following simple scenario:. The phone system will be plugged into port 1. Ports will be used for phones to which PCs are connected.
Universal Tag (utag.js)
Ports 51 and 52 mini-gbic will be used to connect to the backbone network and other switches, respectively. Now, since I want traffic from Vlans 1 and to be transported on the mini-gbics uplinks, in Vlan 1 I tagged and in Vlan I also tagged If you have a spare switch, copy the config from the one running and put it on the spare, then try the reversion he suggested and see what happens.
You have a cable going from port 51 on Switch A to port 51 on switch B. You want to allow all those Vlans on this trunk in cisco speak. I agree, that is how I understand it. I think the confusion resulted from the fact that they are using Vlan 1 for data, as opposed to Vlan or something else. I know it is just an example, I just meant that in my scenario they were using the default vlan Vlan 1 for data, and since it is vlan 1, you can leave your trunk port untagged in that vlan, as you recommended 5 posts ago.
In all other vlans, you would have to tag that port. Ah, got ya. It is not a good idea to use the default VLAN. But yeah I agree it is a security risk…. This conversation was extremely helpful to me as well. I seemed to be having the exact same bit of confusion. I have an odd thing happening on one of my switches only… We have our main office, connected remote offices via Fibre.
GBIC at each end.
Strömbrytare och vägguttag
The problem is, after a power outage, one remote switch forgets it tagging on only the GBIC port. I am aware of this, I use the default vlan as the management vlan, so I am able to access the switch remotely and re:tag that port on all my VLans so that networks come back. Hans, if your issue is not resolved and you would like assistance from HP Networking Support Team, please ping me. Going forward, you may want to submit a new post instead of appending to a very old one.
Doing so tends to generate more responses from the experts here. Stuart, appreciate your helpful input. My PC is on subnet X and I can access switch B On internal firewall we have a route of Question: We need to configure Switch B to have some ports on I have already created A quick config example of a simple switch which may help illustrate this better.
